Outdoors/Water Sports Toledo Bend Lake Country

Outdoors/Water Sports

Although fishing is by far the most popular pastime on Toledo Bend, the lake also offers water sports areas for jet skiing, water-skiing, wake boarding, tubing, and more.

Canoeing opportunities are available in quiet protected coves along the reservoir and in the dam area off Toro Creek.

Pedal boats are a pleasure for the young and young at heart. A number of public beaches, numerous RV and primitive camping sites, ATV trails, hiking trails and birding opportunities are available to enhance your experience with nature.

Toledo Bend lake is also a good spot for scuba diving with many sunken artifacts to explore. You will find the remains of buildings & towns, flooded cemeteries, and sunken boats hiding beneath the waters. There are some big catfish and gar that many divers hunt with spear guns.

Many public boat launches provide easy access, and boat rentals are also available.
