Yet, if you consider other factors that are important for seniors, you'd find that some of the best spots are actually located farther north. Bankrate pored through a slew of key factors, including access to medical care, cost of living, local crime rates, state and local taxes -- as well as climate.

Toledo Bend Lake ranks #10 in Bassmaster's 100 Best Bass Lakes

Best Bass Lakes of 2013: Toledo Bend Reservoir

Not unlike its sister lake to the west (Sam Rayburn), Toledo Bend is currently experiencing a “new lake” effect because of recen...t rains that brought the lake level up, submerging new vegetation that creates bass nirvana. Catch rates are spiking upward, and giant fish continue to pour out of this 185,000-acre reservoir. Two Texas ShareLunkers (bass topping 13 pounds) were caught here in the past two years, and Louisiana recognized one weighing more than 14 pounds last year.

On April Fool’s day, there were no jokes played on 36-years-old Watkins and his fishing partner Lance Melendy while the pair was fishing the Indian Mounds section of the lake.

MANY, LA - When you overhear your fishing guide mention Fred, Barney, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, you might wonder why on earth he's having a cell phone conversation about the 1960s cartoon series "The Flintstones."

It becomes even more confusing when you hear Picasso, Windy, Addams Family, Sweet, Joy and Loaded. Yeah, "loaded," that sounds about right. The guy that's supposed to be an expert on catching crappie at Toledo Bend Reservoir must have been hitting the bottle a tad early today.
