Toledo Bend Forest Scenic Byway

The Toledo Bend Forest Scenic Byway (Louisiana Hwy. 191) travels the length of Toledo Bend Reservoir and displays 76 miles of rolling hills lined with stately pine.

Highway 171 and Hwy 6, plus other arms of the Scenic Byway, provide links to towns, villages and communities in Toledo Bend Country as well as numerous sights and attractions. Including:

Along the Scenic Byway, 30-plus marinas and other accommodations offer the visitor a wide variety of opportunities to enjoy the numerous activities available on or off the water.

Beaches, state parks, historical sites, a 700 acre garden, luxury golf courses, interpretive signage areas, observation towers at the Dam, and excellent opportunities for birding, including habitat for Bald Eagles (such as the one shown here that was photographed off of 191) are accessible along the Scenic Byway.

Mountain Bikers and Hikers can enjoy five possible loop distances ranging from 1 to 6+ miles. Traversing through tight and open forests, over the regions highest point and along the lake, the resorts Nature Trail allows users to enjoy the area’s natural beauty-and challenging terrain!
