Hello, Anglers. May is here but you would not know it from night and early morning air temperatures. For five days in a row we had morning temps in the 40s with one in the upper 30s. The only reason there was no frost was because of high winds. Even so, the foilage around the lake a surrounding area is plush green and jsut beautiful. The high winds really slowed down the boat traffic last week but this week is beautiful and the fish are biting.

Hello, Anglers. Last week's weather during Thanksgiving Holidays was basically about as good as it gets for mid-November while this week we have had some cold frontal rain. While the lake was not crowded at all, a fair number of fishermen were on the lake and fishing was good and at times even excellent. We had spurts where we were catching fish on almost every cast and other times where we would go 10-15 minutes without a bite and have to move around on the lake to find active fish.

Happy New Year!! Even though there were several days this week where the temperatures fell below freezing around the lake, the topic of the new proposed water sales contract between SRA Louisiana and Toledo Bend Partners remains a very hot issue. While we and other grass-roots Toledo Bend citizens have been voicing concerns for some time, others are joining the choir. Several major newspapers in the state, including the American Press and Baton Rouge Advocate, have this week featured major editorials on the matter so the word is out and public officials are hearing our concerns.
